Good Morning Red!

This morning we were greeted to a cheery sound of a beautiful Cardinal. They pass through our street every year around this time!  I love that! We tried to catch a close up picture of him but he flew across the street and continued his cheery "hello" chirp!

What a surprise!   Mr. Cardinal was sitting on our lamp post this morning as we were heading off to co-op.  I did not take this picture of him but I found it to show you how he looked.  He was amazing and very cute too!  He had a confidence about him that drew us to him.  I love seeing God showing us his creations at just the right time.  I love the beauty.

Giddy Up! Edible Horse Snack

We made a Edible horse for class this week.  Turkey and cheese sandwich on a roll.  Yee Haw!

Penny

Hannah has a chicken named Penny and she is amazing. She loves Hannah and Hannah loves her. The Johnson family have a chicken coop at their home and let Hannah adopt and care for her there.  Last spring Penny was won in a raffle at a fund raiser event for 4-H they blessed Hannah with the gift of raising her from a little chick.  She is so cute and very friendly.  Penny cares for all the other chickens in the coop. She survived a coyote attack. She survived a bad storm which lifted the coop off the ground and blew it across the property. She was found sitting on the chickens that did not make it.  The saying "mother hen" defines her to a tee.  We love Penny!
Thanks to the Johnson Family for giving her this experience.

Dinner is Served!

I thought I died and went to heaven! My birthday dinner was fabulous! Asian Salmon with rice pilaf and asparagus.  Orange delights with mango frozen yogurt sprinkled with coconut.  The beautiful purple orchid flower was given to me by Kylee.  We topped off the afternoon with a hike up the mountain.  Spring time in Arizona is heaven in my book!

HealthHannah needed to make a poster for her 4-H club showing what the pledge means to her.  She cleverly used her cute baby guinea pig Willow to represent the fun!

Ice cube Tray Desserts

In Edible Art Class we made Ice cube tray desserts. Melted chocolate chips with fresh strawberries, banana, sprinkled coconut and chopped nuts. Put them in the freezer for a few hours.  They were scrumptious and very chilly on the teeth.

Prayer Works!

It is fun to see God work.  I got a phone call two weeks ago from a neighbor asking if I would be interested in coming to her house to help care for her mother who no longer can live on her own.  It was something that I wasn't looking for.  I have been happy working at the school serving lunch. Did I really want to change my schedule? Did I really want to mess up my plan? As I began to ponder the thought of caring for her mom everything began to fall into place.  I felt God's spirit lead me each step of the way.  I prayed and ask God to show me his will.  I realized that I need to be open to change.  It causes me to try new things.  I can't grow if I'm not willing to change.  I am excited to be a part of  Grammy Mim's life a few days a week.  I am excited to see her share her life with Hannah and I.  I look forward to this new adventure!
